Mike Harris
Mike Harris, co-owner of Harris Lumber, created his company in 2021 after taking over Bailey Lumber. Previously employed at A.E. Robinson Oil Co. for 10 years and the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office for six years, he’d also served as a law enforcement officer for more than 20 years. Originally from Milo, he and his wife, Megan settled down in Sebec. The couple has two kids, Kaylee, eight, and Carson, three, and the family dog, a labrador. Soon after they were married, he and Megan worked toward a shared goal to own their own business and reached that milestone within five years. The challenges of being a business owner are his biggest reward, as Harris Lumber strives to be the best small business possible with excellent customer service. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. In addition, he has been a member of the Milo Fire Department for 20-plus years, having worked his way up to Assistant Chief 10 years ago. He credits his great employees and customers for Harris Lumber’s excellent reputation and says it wouldn’t be that way without them.
Megan Harris
Megan Harris started off her career working in accounting finance for more than 10 years before she and Mike founded Harris Lumber in 2021. While Mike runs the company’s operations, Megan oversees all of the financial planning. She grew up in Dover-Foxcroft and lives with her family in Sebec. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves hunting and snowmobiling. Their daughter Kaylee, eight, and Carson, three, keep her busy, along with their lab, who loves being outside and hunting birds. Working with her husband and their awesome staff motivates her every day, along with getting to know more people in the surrounding Milo community.
Ray
Ray has worked as a laborer for Harris Lumber there for more than two years. After graduating high school, he had nearly eight years of experience working for what was then Bailey Lumber. He grew up in New York and currently lives in Sebec with his two kids, Nicholas and Makayla, and his girlfriend, Lisa Manahan. He likes having different responsibilities, helping customers, and bringing merchandise to people’s homes or job sites. In his spare time, he is a bouncer at the Bear’s Den and is a member of the Piscataquis Dover Fair Association. He loves to hunt and fish as well as do odd jobs for family and friends.
Torrey Ellis
Torrey Ellis has been part of Harris Lumber since the company started in July 2021, and has led the company in an organizational role. Previously, he’d been with Bailey Lumber in the same capacity since 1986. He likes working with his colleagues because everyone gets along well. When he’s not at work he enjoys relaxing at home.
